Mixx Maker Officially Launches on Facebook

Project Opus Technologies is proud to announce the official launch of Mixx Maker on Facebook.
Mixx Maker lets you create 'Mixxs', digital mixtapes that you make with your friends. When creating a Mixx, users set a theme, and invite their friends to upload music for that theme.
In tandem with its Facebook release, Mixx Maker has also launched its website at MixxMaker.com. The website will be used as a central hub for Mixxs and 'Mixxers' once Mixx Maker expands beyond Facebook.
Project Opus Technologies Awarded Funding from Heritage Canada

Project Opus Technologies in partnership with Simon Fraser University and with the support of Yahoo! Music is awarded $400,000 to develop a new format for digital music packages. The project to be completed in March 2008, will provide music technologies for enhancing the digital music experience by adding valued media and services to a standard audio file.

ProjectOpus.com officially launches. The management team forgoes the typical "Web 2.0 Beta? labeling as too cliché. The site is supported by a grass roots community that was started 100% from word of mouth during the previous prototype.

Donat Group's internal research project, Opus, receives seed funding and is spun out as a separate independently owned company called surprisingly enough, Project Opus Technologies Inc.
The mission of Project Opus Technologies Inc moves beyond its original reseach mandate and focuses on developing technologes that address falling perceived value of a song download. In short to add value through music the experience.
Project Opus Website Launches

Donat Group launches Project Opus, a prototype community Website designed for the publishing and discovery of independent music.
The site launches with unique features:
- Regional portals focused on local music
- Genre filtering based on standard taxonmies and gardened user generated taxonomies (tagging)
- Categorized tagging
- Every song or playlist published with RSS and new XSPF specifiction
- Song rating system focused on "song activity" rather than by ratings or purchases alone
